“So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the Lord his God” (2 Chronicles 27:6).
Robots are being prepared to enter top universities in Japan and China as “students.” Japanese researchers have already created a robot that has scored higher than the national average on a university entrance exam. The test included history, English, physics, and math questions. However, one expert believes that the biggest challenge will be the robot’s abilities in physics classes.
For this reason, scientists predict that it will take until 2021 for a robot to be able to make it into the highest-ranking university in Japan. A Chinese company is trying to beat that by preparing a robot to enter a top ranked university by 2020.
The best preparation for success comes from God. This became evident in Jotham’s life. Under the leadership of this king of Judah, one of the temple gates was rebuilt. Along with the successful completion of an extensive wall project, Jotham also built cities, forts, and towers in the hills. In the area of military victories, the Bible records that he won a battle against the Ammonites and was able to collect large amounts of silver, wheat, and barley from them three years in a row.
All of this success was attributed to the fact that he collaborated with God in making his plans. The Bible says that “he prepared his ways before the Lord” (2 Chronicles 27:6). This was likely a prayerful way of planning that involved God’s guidance.
Jotham’s relationship with God prevented him from following in the steps of his father. Uzziah also had success, but it led him to be proud, to desecrate the priestly office, and to be punished with leprosy. In contrast, Jotham honoured the temple and served as king without one major sin recorded against his biblical record.
Father, today I lay all my plans at Your feet. I seek to prepare all my work before You.
