King Nebuchadnezzar ordered a golden image to be erected and commanded all officials to bow down and worship it when the music played. Everyone obeyed except Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who refused to worship the idol because they served a greater King. Furious, Nebuchadnezzar gave them a second chance, but they still refused. In retaliation, he had the furnace heated seven times hotter and had them thrown in. The heat was so intense that it killed the soldiers who threw them in. However, when the king looked into the furnace, he saw four men walking unharmed, with the fourth appearing like the Son of God. God miraculously saved them because of their unwavering faith, showing that His people will face similar tests in the future.
